Okay, I've finally gotten my hands on some compression technology that allows me to make downloading some of our animations reasonable for AOL.
Here is an older animation we did way back when. It is of a CSG sphere floating over a water ripple, animated in 8-bit color. Truly dazzling.
Just about everything in Infini-D is animatable, including ripples. You can create some amazing effects with it. (NOTE: The Sphere is a CSG object, and as many of you know, we had to pull constructive solid geometry from the program from 1.0 because of interface issues. Please do not pass this animation around without qualifying that for Infini-D. Thank you.)
Now for a plug. The Company of Science and Art is working on a utility called PACo. I used PACo (Beta) to compress this 1.6 MB down to approx 400K. With Director/Accelerator, it need about 3 to 4 megs of RAM to play. With PACo, it plays with 450K!!!
If you want more info about PACo, call CoSA at 401-831-2672
